WD-40® brand launches reconstruction of 1951 Chevrolet 3100 American Classic at SEMA

SAN DIEGO – (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – When Trad Ronfeldt embarked on an ambitious plan to rebuild a classic 1951 Chevrolet 3100 from scratch, he did so with the vision of creating something that seemed to come off the production line. It has accomplished this and more in a now road-ready vehicle that retains its classic look with a custom-built double rear end, backed by extra power and superior performance.

The Chevy Truck is the result of a partnership between Ronfeldt, crew chief of seven-time Pro-4 off-road racing champion Kyle LeDuc, and WD-40® Brand, which is making its custom manufacturing debut at SEMA 2021 (West Hall # 50109).

To transform this classic vehicle into a modern day machine, Ronfeldt and WD-40 Brand set out to build a truck that maintains an authentic time capsule aesthetic with increased performance. To achieve this goal, Ronfeldt relied on his 23 years of experience to manufacture the truck bed from new materials designed to match the year and model of the truck. Ronfeldt stamped, folded and cut out the bed, mimicking the lines of the truck’s body to make it look like a production Chevrolet part straight off the 1951 assembly line.

In addition, the Chevrolet 3100 brand WD-40 / SEMA Cares Custom 1951 has:

– A 383 Stoker fuel injected V-8 producing over 500 horsepower

– Custom double rear with widened Currie axle

– New suspension design

– A restored cabin interior with new upholstery and aged leather seats

– A custom patina paint job

– Completely new transmission and transmission

The personalized vehicle will be auctioned off on bringatrailer.com in early 2022 to benefit SEMA Cares charities, including Childhelp, a nonprofit dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse. To date, the WD-40 brand has built and auctioned over 10 vehicles and raised over $ 1 million for charity.
