Reams have been written in the media and many successful brands have been hailed for making their mark in post-independence India. Unfortunately, even after 75 years, we still cannot boast of the many, many global brands that India has created over the past decades. Of course, the Tatas export many of their products and their brand is well known in some parts of the world; Airtel Africa is proud proof of a thriving Indian-origin brand abroad; but there is not much else.
