Meritor contracts heavy duty road axles to Daimler China Business
TROY, Mich., December 7, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Meritor, Inc. (NYSE: MTOR) announced today that it has entered into a supply agreement with Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive Co. Ltd. (BFDA), the joint venture of Daimler Truck in China. Through the agreement, Meritor will produce a customized version of rear-wheel drive tandem and single rear axles for Daimler’s heavy-duty tractor units, which will be produced in Beijing by BFDA.

BFDA is a 50/50 joint venture between Daimler Truck AG and Chinese manufacturer Foton Motor. The company produces and operates Auman brand heavy trucks in China. Manufacture of the first China-The built Mercedes-Benz heavy truck is scheduled to start at the end of 2022.
