Dell announces e-commerce strategy to sell customized products and solutions to small businesses
In an effort to increase the direct sales model of its small business vertical, Dell in India today announced a online go-to-market strategy for its SME clients. A press release from the company said that with the move, Dell has amplified its commitment to small businesses – a priority segment for the U.S.-based multinational computer technology company.
Dell said that via www.dell.co.in/SmallBiz, small businesses can now purchase products and solutions customized for their specific IT needs. It also claimed that it has become the only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India to leverage its global heritage by selling directly to this customer base.
Through this new initiative, Dell is making certain products and solutions available to small business customers. One of them is the Dell Client solutions portfolio, which includes the Vostro, XPS and Latitude laptop lines, in addition to the Precision workstations and the Vostro and OptiPlex desktops.
Another offering is the Dell EMC infrastructure solutions portfolio, which will include entry-level PowerEdge servers and PowerEdge rack servers. A full portfolio of Dell displays and client devices will also be available for small businesses, along with the Dell warranty services portfolio, including Pro-Support and Pro-Support Plus.
The press release read: “Through the online direct selling mechanism, customers will have a seamless shopping experience according to their preferences. Customers will be able to choose from award-winning products and further customize configurations to suit their respective IT needs. In addition, their purchase will be guided by timely technology adoption advice, offered exclusively by Dell’s “Small Business Advisors”; trained and certified to serve customers not only at the time of purchase, but also basic support throughout their digital transformation. Dell in India currently has over 180 trusted advisors based in Bengaluru and Gurugram. “
Raj Kumar Rishi, Vice President and General Manager, Consumer and Small Business at Dell India, noted:
“With the addition of online sales capability, Dell has moved even closer to small businesses. For small businesses in the post-GST world, the digital transformation journey has become more personalized. Dell is ready to meet their technology needs through our advisors, an excellent product portfolio and a seamless shopping experience. I see this refined new go-to-market strategy as Dell’s only differentiator. “
